Congratulations to Delta Upsilon Omega member Dr. Tracy M. Hilliard for receiving the American Public Health Association (APHA) Health Informatics Information Technology (HIIT) Award for Exemplary Leadership at the 2017 APHA Annual Meeting in Atlanta, GA. The mission of APHA HIIT is to improve the public’s health and promote prevention and early interventions by advancing the use of innovative and effective information technology and informatics applications. A charter member of the APHA HIIT Section, Hilliard has served on the Executive Board since its inception in 2007 and just concluded her third year as APHAHIIT Chair. She is a Senior Consultant at ORS Impact where she supports clients locally and nationally with strategy for measurement and evaluation. In 2016, she graduated from the first cohort of Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Leaders for Equitable Evaluation and Diversity (LEEAD) Program designed to advance equity and social justice through culturally responsive and equitable evaluation. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the University of Washington (UW) Department of Psychosocial and Community Health. Hilliard has been a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha since 1999, when she joined Beta Theta Chapter while an undergraduate at UW.
