To members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., friends and supporters,

On behalf of the Seattle Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, I am pleased to welcome you to the official website of Delta Upsilon Omega Chapter.

Founded in 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha is the oldest and largest sorority of its kind. Because of its stature and 111 years of service, Alpha Kappa Alpha is hailed as “America’s premier Greek-lettered organization for Black women”. From its one-chapter beginning, Alpha Kappa Alpha now boosts nearly 300,000 members. In all of its pursuits, and at the heart of every program is a devotion to maintaining high standards, to continue its legacy of community service, and to resolve to enrich the lives of others. From the boardroom to the classroom, from the courtroom to our highest forms of government, Alpha Kappa Alpha members represent the driving force behind many corporations, government agencies, educational institutions and community organizations worldwide.

Delta Upsilon Omega, the Seattle Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has been steadfast in continuing to enrich the legacy of service in the greater Seattle community for more than 71 years. The Seattle Alumnae Chapter is dedicated to providing support for lifelong learning through our education, women’s healthcare, economic empowerment, and global impact programming and by supporting the Black Arts movement and historically Black colleges and universities. We remain committed to serving as leaders of change and are dedicated to addressing disparities within our communities.

The 2018-2022 international program, as outlined by our International President, Dr. Glenda Glover, “Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service” unites Alpha Kappa Alpha women all over the world to focus our talents and resources address issues that impact our community. Delta Upsilon Omega is excited and proud to support and execute program initiatives that enrich the quality of life for citizens, promote empowerment and peace and address problems concerning women, girls, and the betterment of all mankind.
